In Medinaceli, a picturesque town in the province of Soria, Spain, a "tradition" called "Toro Júbilo" brings shame on Spain. On the second weekend in November, balls of pitch (a sticky black
substance made from tar or turpentine) will once again be stuck onto the horns of a bull and set on fire. The burning bull is called "Toro de Fuego" (literally "bull on fire").
The bull is then released onto the streets and can do nothing but run around in pain. The bull often smashes into walls in an attempt to douse the fire. The agony the bull must suffer is
unimaginable. These fiery balls can burn for hours, and they burn the bull's horns, body and eyes and cause tremendous stress – all while spectators cheer and run around the victim

Petition to the Secretary of Agriculture
We, the undersigned, urge Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Johanns, to direct the USDA/APHIS/Animal Care agency to fully enforce the Animal Welfare Act, and to implement the recommendations of the recent OIG audit of APHIS. We further urge Secretary Johanns to direct USDA/APHIS/Animal Care to assess the stiffest penalties allowable under the provisions of the Animal Welfare Act and to eliminate the policy of automatic 75% reduction of fines. Additionally, we urge Secretary Johanns to fully disclose the number of animals used within the research facilities of the USDA and all other federal agencies that experiment on animals. Golden Lotus Chinese Restaurant at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort prides itself on a menu which features numerous Shark Fin dishes. Shark Fin is considered a delicacy in Chinese culture because
it is believed that since sharks appear hardy and resilient, these qualities can be transfered to a human if consumed. This is a MYTH and has no basis in science.
While they have been demonized by media, sharks are known to kill only 5 humans per year - by accident. They do not seek humans blood and are not evil. Sharks are very intelligent creatures and are a
central link in the food chain. Their role significantly impacts the earth, the stability of the entire marine ecosystem, and our oxygen supply. However, over 100 million sharks are killed each year
for human consumption. Shark populations have declined by 90%, and the multi-billion dollar industry continues to grow. They are being driven to extinction.
Fishermen use knives to rip off all the fins and then throw the carcass overboard. The shark is most often still alive when it is tossed back and can take several days to die, in agony. Any shark is
taken-regardless of age, size, or species. Shark finning is widespread, and largely unmanaged and unmonitored. Shark finning has increased over the past decade due to the increasing demand.
Experts estimate that within a decade, most species of sharks will be lost. They are being harvested faster than their reproductive abilities can replenish their populations.
Shark finning violates the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization's Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, and is contrary to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization's
International Plan for the Conservation and Management of Sharks.
If you are a resident of the Niagara area or visit the casino, especially, PLEASE sign. Golden Lotus is contributing to the extinction of sharks, and we are condoning it. This is tantamount to having
your hands and feet cut off while fully conscious and then being left to die, all for the greed of others. Fallsview Casino is an icon of Niagara Falls, and as a resident, I feel I have blood on my
hands. Tell the casino you want Shark Fin off the menu.

Altinkum, Didim, is a beautiful seaside resort on the Agean coast.
But it has a dark side ... The disappearance recently of many of the street dogs, Many of which have been known to locals and regular tourists for many years. - These dogs all have
ear tags, which means they have been neutered , So why are they taking them ? We want to know !

Despite many outraged people emailing the municiple authorities no one has had a single reply.
Someone is responsible for the removal of these dogs ! We want to know who and why !
It has been said that the dogs were taken into the mountains and left to die of thirst and hunger..... If true, this is unacceptable !

We therefore ask that Altinkum Didim be boycotted as a holiday resort until :
1 - Those responsible are held accountable under Turkish law.
2 - No more healthy dogs to be removed or killed in Altinkum, Didim.
3 - That it be made public as to where the dogs were taken.
4 - That the neuter and release shelter get full support from the Didim municipality.
